“Lorraine” and “Jirda” by Tristan Houghton

“Jirda” is the sacred site on Yindjibarndi land in Western Australia where Yindjibarndi people ask for more seed from the land. Recently produced by Tristan Houghton & Taxi Oombarra for Juluwarlu, this beautiful short gives audiences a unique insight into this special ceremony.

Tristan comments on his practice, “I feel incredibly lucky for the opportunity to learn more about my culture through my passion for film making.”

In the second piece, Lorraine Coppin CEO of @juluwarlu speaks on the importance of connecting with country. An active program where elders take the younger generations out onto the land to get in touch with their heritage and learn from each other and themselves.
