We are thrilled to announce that Taxi Director Leah Purcell @leahpurcell has had her debut film “The Drover’s Wife The Legend of Molly Johnson” selected for the prestigious South By South West (SXSW) Festival, which will be held virtually out of the US next month. The film is based on the Henry Lawson short story but is re-imagined for a modern audience, and was shot on location in Australia’s high country. It is one of three Australian films selected to premiere at SXSW.
SXSW is renowned for discovering and showcasing ground-breaking international creative voices in a program that celebrates the convergence of the interactive, film and music industries. Filmmakers such as Lena Dunham, Barry Jenkins and Greta Gerwig are among the directors who made their mark at the Festival.
Well done to Leah on this incredible film – we can’t for the world premiere next month!
